On April 24, the Office of Civil Rights for the U.S. Department of Education issued a guidance package on the roles and responsibilities of schools, school districts, colleges, and universities to designate a Title IX Equity Coordinator. The designation of at least one employee to coordinate a school’s compliance with the law is required under Title IX. The guidance reviews legal requirements in several areas under Title IX, including athletics, single-sex education, sex-based harassment, and discipline. The package also includes a letter to Title IX Equity Coordinators. Please make sure you review these requirements and share this information with your designated Title IX Equity Coordinator.
