Grants for Social-Emotional-Behavioral Professional Development now available
To help support the Social-Emotional-Behavioral Health of Iowa students, the Iowa Department of Education is pleased to announce a third round of funding for the COVID-19 Public Health Workforce Supplemental Opportunity Grant. All Iowa school districts are strongly encouraged to apply for this funding that supports up to 12 days of professional development and training for school staff. Deadline to apply for this round of funding is Aug. 12.
Iowa schools can apply for awards up to $100,000. Grant requirements and the application process can be found at IowaGrants.gov under funding opportunity #464801. All applicants must register an account to apply.
The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention provided $4.5 million to the Iowa Departments of Education and Public Health to train and sustain Iowa’s school health workforce. Priority consideration will be given to applicants that have not received other federal funds for professional learning and coaching outside of the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds and Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) funds.
