When did your district last have a Teacher of the Year?

Tuesday, January 11, 2022

The Pleasant Valley Community School District remembers well the first time they had an Iowa Teacher of the Year named from among the faculty. It was last year, when Pleasant Valley High School Teacher Sara Russell was named the 2022 Teacher of the Year.

So will the 2023 Teacher of the Year hail from your district? One thing is sure: It won’t happen unless you nominate a deserving educator.

Russell – and all Iowa Teachers of the Year who preceded her dating back to 1958 – acknowledge it’s not only an honor, but a wonderful experience being chosen as an ambassador for Iowa’s education system.

Nominations are being accepted through March 1 for the 2023 Iowa Teacher of the Year.

Know of someone who deserves the honor? (Hint: Yes, you do.) Nominate her or him today!
