Apply for the Career Academy Incentive Fund
Applications for the 2021-22 Career Academy Incentive Fund grant are now being accepted by the Iowa Department of Education. All submissions must be received by Oct. 29.
The Career Academy Incentive Fund expands and increases equitable access to high-quality career and technical education (CTE) programs through partnerships between school districts and community colleges. Institutions that demonstrate these partnerships are encouraged to apply for the grant. Priority consideration will be given to applicants who focus on programming delivered through regional centers.
Funded through the 2019 reauthorization of Secure an Advanced Vision for Education (SAVE), the Iowa Department of Education awards up to $1 million for individual grant projects. The number of grants issued is based on the amount of available funds and types of applications received.
Last spring, Eastern Iowa Community College, Indian Hills Community College and Waterloo Community School District each received a $1 million grant through the Career Academy Incentive Fund to help build new or expand existing regional centers.
Expanding student access to high-quality career and technical education is part of the Future Ready Iowa initiative, which is focused on growing a skilled workforce in all regions of the state by connecting more Iowans to the education and training needed for high-demand careers.
