Child and Adult Care Food Program Ambassador Stipends now available

Date:
Tuesday, January 12, 2021

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federally funded program that provides meal reimbursement to child care centers, adult day care centers, emergency shelters, before and after school programs, and child development homes. The program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture, and administered by the Iowa Department of Education’s Bureau of Nutrition and Health Services.

To help increase CACFP participation, a child care center or home provider currently participating in the CACFP can apply to receive an Ambassador Stipend ($300 for centers or $150 for home providers) by mentoring a center or home provider who does not participate in CACFP and assisting them with applying for the food program. Funding for the Ambassador Stipends is made possible through an agreement with Iowa Department of Public Health to increase CACFP participation.

To learn more about Ambassador Stipends, visit the Iowa Department of Education webpage and see details located in the green section. The Ambassador Stipend application due date has been extended to June 30, 2021.
