Are part-time teachers included in the required mentoring?
There is nothing in Iowa Administrative Code Chapter 272 for those teachers serving under a provisional license in Iowa, or in the new teacher quality bill (SF 476), that prohibits part-time teachers from being considered for the mentoring program. A first year beginning teacher, even if teaching part-time, should have the opportunity to participate in a mentoring/induction program.
