May students who spend their summers out of state take driver's education in another state and transfer it back to Iowa?
No. The Iowa DOT will require a completion certificate from an approved Iowa driver's education program before it will issue the driver's license. However. if the local Iowa school agrees to do so, it may accept the out-of-state certificate of completion and issue an Iowa certificate of completion. Persons should check out ahead of time what their local Iowa district would do on this before getting into the driver's education course in another state.
