Is there a specific program required for substance abuse prevention for driver's education?
The program must include four hours of substance abuse information in the thirty hours of classroom instruction. State course standards required only that four hours of substance abuse information be taught, but a district may choose to teach six hours and use a specific program. The district could also choose to teach only four hours and use locally selected and created curriculum. This is a local decision.
