A first year in the United States ELL student took the I-ELDA instead of the state reading assessment. How do I inform the IDE of this?
English language learners who have been in the United States for 12 months or less may take the English language proficiency assessment instead of the state reading assessment for accountability purposes. In your district’s student information system, code these students as “8 – First year FLL student in US; took English Language Proficiency assessment” in the reason no state reading assessment score field. The IDE will receive this information through the spring EASIER submission. This information will be cross-checked with state I-ELDA results.
