Webinar for Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)

Expanding Farm to Childcare webinar will be presented on March 28, 2013 from 1:00-2:00 PM. Team Nutrition is partnering with Iowa State University Extension to provide the webinar to all CACFP participants. The webinar will feature steps for getting started in farm to childcare; using childcare gardens for nutrition education and in the meals program; enhancing knowledge and skills for safe procurement of locally grown foods; encouraging children to consume foods that are locally grown; and enhancing skills to communicate these efforts to parents and staff. Mini-grant opportunities to assist with getting started with farm to childcare to meet the Healthier CACFP Award criteria will be offered.

The training will be delivered in a webinar format that can be viewed from a computer connected to the Internet. As the date gets closer, you will receive a link to view the webinar and information to download any necessary plug-ins.
