West Des Moines Learning Resource Center, Fair Meadows Room
Not a computer lab, wireless internet available
This training will focus on helping SFA’s start the application process by working with the USDA Menu Worksheets and Simplified Nutrient Assessment with both practice menus and the SFA’s actual menus. Participants will need to have watched the 6-Cent Lunch Certification Webinar (presented 9-10-12) and have an understanding of the new meal patterns. Click here
to view the webinar recording.
Registration is limited to a maximum of two people per district/school/RCCI who will be responsible for completing the documentation for the 6-Cent Certification materials. This may include the Food Service Director and a secretary, business manager, or other designated person. No more than two people per SFA should register.
After the training, the learner will be able to:
- Demonstrate use of the USDA Menu Worksheets
- Analyze a sample menu using the USDA Menu Worksheets and Simplified Nutrient Assessment
- Evaluate their own SFA menu using the USDA Menu Worksheets and Simplified Nutrient Assessment
There is no computer lab at this site; however, wireless Internet is available so you can bring your own laptop. If you cannot bring a laptop, register at one of the sites marked "computer lab provided."
More specific details will be emailed to you as to what you will need to bring to the training. We look forward to seeing you. If you have questions, please contact Angela Mitchell at
