"Steps to CACFP Success" covers Menu Planning, Food Production Records, Recommendations for a Healthy Center Environment, Emergency Shelters, CACFP Recordkeeping, Civil Rights, and Infant Feeding in CACFP.  You may register for one or all sessions.  If you are new to CACFP, you are required to attend the full day workshop.  You do not need to attend the infant feeding session if you do not have infants enrolled in your center(s), and you do not need to attend the emergency shelter segment if you do not have an emergency shelter.

The Iowa Department of Education is launching a project that will give districts new opportunities to streamline reporting and processes, integrate systems, and share data among applications. During this conference attendees will have a chance to see these tools in action – such as automated student ID generation, new data collection and validation process for BEDS staff and EASIER reporting (Vertical Reporting Framework), and automated uploads to Iowa Transcript Center (ITC).

With a horizontal SIF implementation, districts have the ability to integrate internal data flow to applications such as library, transportation, cafeteria, directory systems, and other applications utilizing the state ZIS (Zone Integration Server) and SIF (Schools Interoperability Framework). Learn how other districts have made big improvements by successfully employing SIF within their districts.

JMC, PowerSchool, and Infinite Campus will be present to discuss with their customers the progress and rollout of these tools (SIF agents). Find out when these tools will be available, how to prepare for implementation, and what costs are covered by the state. Students Taking Charge is a national movement of youth to mobilize, organize, and speak out for healthy and active schools in every state. Join us for a one-day workshop with a team of high school students to empower them to make your school a place where it's easy to be healthy. The workshop will be held in partnership with the Iowa Dept of Education, Iowa Dept of Public Health, and Iowa State Extension. School teams are to consist of one adult advisor and up to four high school students.

Changes in the School Meal Patterns--Moving Forward Together!

The Bureau of Nutrition, Health & Transportation Services plan to provide training about the nutrition standards final rule, which includes the new menu patterns, incorporates a variety of methods.  The standards go into effect July 1, 2012.  Plan to start your involvement in training by the end of March.
