The purpose of the community college program review and evaluation system is to ensure that the state's 15 community colleges comply with 281 Iowa Administrative Code 46.7, subsection (4), regarding program review. Procedural changes made in 2004 do not affect the long-standing requirement that 20% of a college's programs must be approved each year. However, there is a greater emphasis on the use of systematically collected data in determining program quality.
