The Iowa State Board of Education will meet on Nov. 14-15 in Des Moines.

The regular meeting will take place Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Grimes State Office Building, 400 E. 14th St., in Des Moines. A work session will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Room B100 (basement level), followed by a second work session in the 2nd floor State Board Room at 9:45 a.m. The business meeting will begin in the 2nd floor State Board Room at 12:30 p.m.

On Thursday, State Board members will participate in the annual Iowa Association of School Boards Convention at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines. State Board members also will honor five schools for making significant progress in closing gaps in student achievement. The announcement will be part of the IASB Convention’s closing session, which is scheduled to begin at 3:45 p.m.
